Our Services Domiciliary Care Services

The Durnford Society Domiciliary Care Service provides personal care, enabling and support services for people with a learning disability who receive support in their own home.

The role of the Domiciliary Care Service is established by ensuring individuals’ wishes and preferences are understood and to underpin the delivery of the service.

The aim of our Domiciliary Care Service is to support and enable adults with a learning disability to have control over their lives.

Those for whom we provide a service have the opportunity to participate in their own, unique, Person Centred Plan which takes into account their abilities, needs, preferences, interests, aspirations, and life-style choices.

Tor Vale has been specifically established to meet the needs of individuals with profound learning and physical disabilities.  Nursing care is provided 24-hours a day in a comfortable, homely environment. Tor Vale, a detached bungalow, is set in its own extensive grounds, benefitting from level landscaped gardens, paved seating areas and a summerhouse.  It is located on the outskirts of the South Hams village of Brixton.  The City of Plymouth, the coast and moors and are all in close proximity.  A multi-person vehicle is provided to enable Service Users to access local, regional and nationwide recreational and leisure activities. The bungalow comprises five bedrooms, lounge, dining room, kitchen, specifically designed bathrooms, toilets, laundry and a separately-situated sensory room.  All areas are accessible by wheelchair.  The bedrooms are all adapted, taking into account the Service Users’ specific needs and are decorated to their individual tastes.  Specialist equipment is provided to meet the specific needs of the Service Users including electronically adjustable beds, hoists, a hydraulic shower trolley and a specialist bath.  descriptionOaklands, a purpose-built, detached bungalow is set in its own landscaped grounds. It is located in the Plymouth suburb of Plymstock, close to shops, services and public transport routes.  The City of Plymouth, the coast and moors and are all in close proximity. Two multi-person vehicles are provided to enable Service Users to access local, regional and nationwide recreational and leisure activities. The bungalow is separated into two distinct homes, with a shared linked corridor. ‘Pontieca’ has five bedrooms, including one en-suite and ’Trojana’ has four bedrooms with the provision for an additional bedroom.  Each home has its own kitchen, lounge, dining room, bathroom, shower room, toilets and laundry rooms. All areas are accessible by wheelchair. The bedrooms are all adapted, taking into account the Service Users’ specific needs and are decorated to their individual tastes. Specialist equipment is provided to meet the specific needs of the Service Users including profiling beds, hoists and specialist bathroom equipment, including a hydro spa bath. Those for whom we provide a service have the opportunity to partake in their own, unique, Person Centred Plan which takes into account their abilities, needs, preferences, interests, aspirations and life-style choices.  contentThe Spy, hailing from an indeterminate region of France, is an aficionado of sharp suits and even sharper knives who relies on stealth and trickery to aid the team. Using his unique array of cloaking watches, he can render himself invisible and even fake his own death, leaving unaware opponents off-guard. His disguise kit lets him take on the form of any class, allowing him to blend in and sneak behind enemy lines before stabbing his unsuspecting 'teammates', quite literally, in the back. In fact, a swift backstab from behind with the Spy's trusty knife will take out any foe, excluding those which are under the effects of an Ubercharge, Scouts under the effect of Bonk! or Snipers wearing the razorback, in a single hit. In addition to being able to assassinate key enemies quickly and efficiently, the Spy is great against the Engineer. Using his Electro Sappers, he can disable Engineer buildings, leaving them open to attack from the Spy's teammates, slowly draining the building's health until it is destroyed or the sapper is knocked off by the Engineer's wrench or the Pyro's homewrecker.

 contentThe Medic is a Teutonic man of medicine with a tenuous adherence to medical ethics, and is nonetheless the primary healing class of the team. Although the Medic does not possess the greatest arsenal for direct combat, he can typically still be found near the front-lines, healing wounded teammates while trying to stay out of trouble. When his Medi Gun is focused on a teammate, they will quickly regain health points. Unharmed teammates will have their health buffed beyond the normal limit, up to 150%. While healing, the Medic's ÜberCharge bar will fill up until the weapon begins to crackle, at which point he can activate a charge that makes himself and his patient take on highly beneficial effects for eight seconds, from temporary invulnerability (with his normal Medi Gun) to guaranteed Critical hits (using the Kritzkrieg) to very rapid healing and immunity to Knockback (with the Quick-Fix). The Medic is capable of regenerating health over time; the longer a Medic stays out of combat, the faster his health will recover. An injured Medic will regenerate health at a rate of 3 HP per second, which scales up over the following ten seconds to a maximum of 6 HP per second (though carrying the Blutsauger reduces the regeneration rate from 3–6 to 1–4, and the Medieval Medic item set will raise it to 4–7). The Medic is voiced by Robin Atkin Downes

 contentThe Heavy, or Heavy Weapons Guy, is a towering hulk of a man that hails from the USSR. The Heavy is the largest and possibly most dangerous class in Team Fortress 2. Boasting the most default health and devastating firepower from his trusty Minigun, the Heavy is no pushover. The Heavy's Minigun can inflict heavy damage at a high rate of fire, allowing him to mow down most enemies in seconds. The Heavy's movement speed is his main weakness. Revving up or firing his Minigun brings his already unimpressive speed down to a snail's pace, making him a very easy target for Snipers and Spies. His slow speed makes him more dependent on support from Medics and Engineers to keep him in the fight. Aside from decimating entire teams, the Heavy is able to provide further support for his comrades with an oft-required health boost via his Sandvich, which, when consumed, is capable of healing him to full health. It can also be dropped to provide an instant 50% health boost to the Heavy himself or his greedy team-mates. The Heavy is the face of Team Fortress 2. He appears prominently on box-art and promotional materials, starred in the very first Meet the Team video, and has appeared in all further videos to date. The Heavy is voiced by Gary Schwartz.
