Care Home Deputy Manager

Plymstock, Plymouth.

A vacancy has arisen for a Deputy Manager at Oaklands Residential Home.

The post is to assist in the management of the home for individuals with Learning and physical disabilities.

The Organisation offers an excellent training and development package and in addition six weeks of annual leave increasing with service.

The post will commence on the 2nd of January 2024 and will provide an opportunity for the first step into a managerial role within the Organisation.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience required.

Essential:

  • Minimum of NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Be prepared to successfully undertake appropriate managerial training, within agreed timeframe.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experienced in the supervision of staff.
  • Knowledge of CQC and Regulation.

Preferable:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a residential/caring setting, of which at least one year must be working with people with Learning Disabilities.
  • Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Approaches.
  • Knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and Care Act 2014.
  • Knowledge of the Care Certificate.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of budgeting and finance controls.

Application Process

Interviews will take place during the week commencing 27th November 2023.

At the interview, you will be required to undertake 10-minute presentation on what key areas you would focus on within the home to develop the quality of support offered.
